Today I am going to share with you the most populair oriental sweet: the Kunefa 😋😋It's a delight...yumyum!!

 
 

You need the following ingredients:

  • 400g Kunefa

  • 50g butter

*For the cream:

  • 1 cup and 1/2ml milk

  • 1 tablespoon vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons Sugar (or brown sugar)

  • 4 tablespoons starch (maïzena)

  • 500ml milk

*For the syrup: 

  • 1 lemon  juice 

  • 1 cup of water

  • 1/2 cup sugar (or brown sugar)

  • 1 teaspoon orange blossom water (l'eau de fleure d'oranger)

 

Instructions: 

*The syrup:

  1. In a medium saucepan combine sugar and water.

  2. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved, add the lemon juice and the orange blossom. Allow to cool.

*The cream:

  1. Heat the 1cup and1/2 milk in a saucepan and when it begins to boil, add the vinegar.

  2. Then pour the ricotta obtained in colander covered with compresses.

  3. Mix the 500ml of milk, sugar and the maïzena in a saucepan. Then put it on a medium heat and mix.

  4. when the cream begins to thicken, add the ricotta and mix : this is our cream.

*The kunefa:

  1. Heat the oven to 180C.

  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan.

  3. Mix the kunefa with the melted butter, In a large bowl.

  4. Put the half of the kunefa into a buttered mold and press well on it. Then, add the cream.

  5. Add-on the reast of the kunefa and press delicately.

  6. Bake for 25-30 mins until golden brown, and then invert the kunefa on the other side and make it golden.

  7. Remove the kunefa from oven, and sprinkle it with the hot syrup. Let the kunefa absorb it.

  8. Decorate your kunefa with pistachio chips (or with other dried fruits ass your like
